Without doubt my favourite photo, climbers on top the Q1 building in Surfers Paradise are silhouetted by the full moon. An extremely difficult image to plan and capture, it won the Photo Editors Choice prize in the 2020 David Malin Awards.
Looking like a beautiful Orange rose, the bright full moon rises behind the Cape Byron Lighthouse. This is a still frame from a video that can be viewed on my Youtube / Vimeo channels
Cape Byron Daytime moonrise
The full moon rises behind the Cape Byron lighthouse, not long before sunset. This is a still frame taken from a very high resolution RAW-format video camera.
Mt Warning Moonset
The full moon sets behind Mt Warning. This image was taken with a high powered zoom lens 30km from the mountatin.
Full Moon behind Cape Byron Lighthouse
This is the full moon riding behind Cape Byron Lighthouse, taken with a Canon 70D and 952mm telescope.
This is a high-dynamic-range image of the moon, seen though a high layer of clouds. This is a colour-enhanced version of what was still a very spectacular sight.
